Schloss Derneburg is a thousand year old castle located in the village of Derneburg in Germany. In the past it was home to a wide variety of tenants from religious orders to wounded soldiers and from June through September of 2007 it housed an exhibition of works by Julian Schnabel. Featured were some of Julian’s major pieces including St. Chuck the Apostate, Versions of Chuck and a large scale surfer painting.
It was part of a series of exhibitions in the Palazzo Venezia in Rome, in the Rotonda della Besana in Milan and in the Tabacalera in Spain.
